Treasure Hunt Guide

(Posted by Dagiva)

EDIT by Dagiva
This post has been updated as of 03.12.14 1:30 A.M. PDT with new statistics and more complete leveling and set information (see bottom of post).

***************************************************************

As most of you have discovered in your time playing Wartune, the translations and instructions for most content leaves much to be desired and true-to-form the new Treasure Hunt mini-game is exactly the same.  I scoured the internet and found very little information other than basic instructions and guides so I collected up some info from screenshots and my own pulls to hopefully help some of the folks who aren't sure how the mini-game works and don't want to make mistakes (if anyone else out there dove head first into buying sylph skills you know exactly what I mean).

First of all the colors are misleading as they do not function the same way in Treasure Hunt as they do anywhere else in Wartune.  The color scheme should represent different qualities of the same item, with higher quality versions replacing lower quality versions (as with your Magic Attack Astrals for example).  In Treasure Hunt this is untrue.  If you have found a white card that gives you +200 hp when you are in Catacombs there is no green/blue/purple/orange version of it. So you can activate your first one and level it to your hearts content because that is the only card that gives that particular bonus in that particular area. Confused yet? Don't be, it ends up being rather simple.

The cards are divided into five decks, each corresponding to a different location where they award bonuses.  The five locations are MP Dungeon, Catacombs, Spire, Battleground and MP Arena.  Each deck is further divided into five colors, each color corresponds to a different stat bonus.  White is HP, Green is Defense, Blue is Attack, Purple is All Stats and I don't know what Orange is yet. Simply put, this means that there are only 25 cards altogether and only 5 cards of each color. This makes collecting them much easier because there is really no zero sum choices to be made.  You can only activate one of each card, you can only level up your cards using duplicates of the same card and at this point that is the only thing you can use duplicates for.  There is no cost to equip or unequip a card, you can do it as often as you want.  The slots are not locked in any way, you can mix decks in the same slot or whatever you like.  I am sure this mini-game will get more complicated as time goes on, there is already evidence of the decks expanding to 8+ cards but for now they are simple.

Now onto the details:

Here is a quick table simplifying the text above for folks who are scrolling past looking for pictures.  The stats listed are for Level 1 Cards and as I have yet to see a level 2 card I don't know how they scale yet.

And here are the images I have been able to collect so far for the existing cards, it's about 60% complete. Click the image for the full size version with readable text.

As with other areas of the game where translations don't always match, that same wonderful attention to detail is present in Treasure Hunt as well.  When a player finds a Purple Card from a Master Summoning Kit it will broadcast to the server under a different name as pictured below.  Rest assured that the cards did in fact come from a Master Summoning Kit and not some obscure secret card-giving item that you have been neglecting to farm.

As for acquiring the cards themselves I've gathered some basic information below.  The sample sizes are quite small at this point so expect the probabilities to change as we gather more data but this is good rough starting point.

First off the costs for treasure hunts:

Based off 19 Hunts (2 Kyanite, 3 Daru, 14 Gold); costs as of level 70.

And the probabilities of getting a particular type of summoning kit from any given Treasure Hunt and overall drop rates of cards observed so far

Based off 20 Hunts (13 Novice, 5 Regular, 2 Master) and 43 Cards (27 White, 11 Green, 5 Blue).

Based on the probabilities above we can draw some conclusions about leveling rates.  Once you have your base set of cards, for every card you acquire beyond that you should generate on average .63 xp for white cards, .26 xp for green cards and .12 xp for blue cards.  This means to level a specific card you'll need to acquire on average 80 new cards for a white level, 156 new cards for a green level and 216 new cards for a blue level.  That is based on level 1 experience so if it scales those numbers will change but as long as the ratio is constant between the colors the pacing will be the same.

Some silly statistics:

Odds of getting the same white card ten times in a row:    1 in   1.1 billion
Odds of getting the same green card eight times in a row: 1 in 21.2 billion
Odds of getting the same blue card five times in a row:     1 in 148.8 million

That about sums up what I've been able to discover so far.  I hope all the folks saving up their Treasure Hunt items for an event found it useful.  Anyone who would like to contribute data points to improve the accuracy if what is posted is encouraged to do so in the comments.  I will keep tabs on what comes in and update the thread as time goes on.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

Dag.

*Update 03.12.14*

Thanks to Mariusz and Eliza C for submitting purple cards.  The full set of purples is now pictured below:

Here is a full set of updated drop rates, the sample sizes are still small so anyone interested in sending in more data is encouraged to do so.

Treasure Hunt costs were based on 75 recorded data points (19 Kyanite, 27 Daru, 29 Gold).
Kit drops were based on 76 recorded data points (48 Novice, 22 Standard, 11 Master).
Overall Card drops were based on 107 recorded data points (60 White, 31 Green, 16 Blue).

As you can see the leveling rates are a bit out of whack, especially for green cards.  White cards get triple the bonus and require triple the xp at level two, blue cards get double bonus and require double xp at level two but green cards get double bonus and require quadruple xp at level two.  No word yet on level two purples.

It remains to be seen whether the green xp rates at level two are a mistake, I'm not sure why they would be so much more expensive to level but time will tell I suppose.

As always, please feel free to post any new information for future updates and thanks for reading.

Dag.

Status Cosmos Knight Level 80 Mage Level 58

Hey guys, here is a status report post on both my characters - Knight Level 80 and Mage Level 58 and, as always, my comments and tips and advice.

So first, I didn't post this yet, but here is my long awaited level up congrats screenshot when I became level 80 I think on the 25th of January:

So after that for about 1 month and right up to the February Class Wars I was finishing up collecting and enchanting my 70 set and I wanted to wait for that before posting the status because it looks awesome - I hide clothing now all the time, so here is my new look and my stats (200% Academy).

You will notice I focused a lot on MDEF to get that up as much as possible since Apollo, Gaia, Iris all do magic damage. I still have the rings as level 60, but for me those are really last priority - a few thousand health is nothing compared to the huge attacks I am receiving. The battle rating is beautifully just above 110k.

Next up the stats on my mage - you will notice that I am going for a full 50 legend set, again rings as last priority; then the 30 day medallion to conserve insignia as much as possible, although now that i got my equipment into legend i might start buying the more expensive ones. Also you notice a strong focus on MATK so I can earn more from the World Boss and kill opponents in Battlegrounds faster. Sockets are not fully done yet, I don't want to spend balens on the rods, so I am getting them slowly over time for free, got maybe 70% of what i need already.

Next, the pictures of my inventory, since people enjoy looking at the stuff that I have (or other people have) hehehe - let me know in the comments what is your biggest surprise or what you think is the coolest item(s) i have :)

and the bags of my mage as well where you will notice that anything to do with experience is stored in the guild vault because i am trying not to gain experience to hold level as much as possible:

Next up are the Astrals for both characters. Here you notice that i have gone to critical build on both characters partly cause its awesome and partly cause its a lot of fun to see the big damage numbers. On the Knight you see that last astral is really a wild card, I had illusion level 8, now i fed that to Guardian Angel which is giving me -40% critical received chance, which is also helpful in dungeons to get less crit hits from bosses. On the Mage you will notice I am absolutely unlucky and didn't get any nice astrals (got Blessed Health yellow 3 times - ridiculous) but I am trying to do the best with what I got raising Willpower to level 5 next.

...and lastly the sylphs that I have.

For my Knight I am really hesitating between Iris and Gaia. As I don't put money on my Knight I think for any free player / non-casher type of a player only 1 strong sylph is realistic to have. My Iris is 3 star blue already much closer to purple and also the benefits of Iris include the fact that in PvP she can pretty much 1 shot kill all the troops if they are alive (especially a good thing when thinking of the coming new stronger troops) and she is a fantastic friend to have when going to dungeons with your friends. While Gaia on the other hand is just super at one target killing. She is just somewhat risky in PvP that if you didn't manage to kill off the troops fast, which I think will happen more and more with the upcoming new troops then you will have a major problem of taking the risk with your delphic and hoping it will hit the player.

For my Mage life is easier, I used to have a blue Pan which was great as well and switched to Amazon when that came out as it is the best choice a mage can make since it's attack is PATK it munches through other mages like butter.

COSMOS Knight becomes Level 79

Hey guys, another big achievement for COSMOS Knight becoming level 79, so only 1 more level to go and I am at maximum and then the focus will go 100% on raising talents with full force of level 80 experience. So below you see the overview of the character and some comments / tips / explanations from me.

So first - my stats. Here to point out that academy buff is at 195% and this is my "normal" Will Destroyer mode. Crit build is 95k/96k around. Also to point out that I raised my MDEF considerably from below 11k to now 16.5k due to the sylphs magic attacks. Otherwise before I was enjoying a very high PDEF for class wars, but since sylphs came the rules changed a bit. Clothing is level 3 all. Fate is level 5. And note here I am with the Warlord's medallion so with a "normal" one the BR would be higher.

Next up we got the bags, i.e. all the items I have or as some people say all the items that I am hoarding. Some of the chests you will notice and might want to comment on - i just don't have the time to open them because I record the data as you know.

My sylph is a 3 star Iris. I did buy her rain dance for group healing with my locked balens, but I am not investing in her any more as I am waiting for new sylphs to come out before I use my saved up mahras and sepulcrums.

For the astrals below my WD build is my standard one with WD and illusion. I switch them with the top right Sniper/Determination combo for WB fights. All the others are flexibility astrals which I use if and when I need. Like guardian angel is very good in lych nm if you are tanking to avoid taking critical attacks by bosses. WD and Sniper there allow me to move around builds if I feel like it. Deflection is nice for class wars.

Runes I only have the first 3:

Talents are same as before that I posted. I haven't touched them at all since I am racing to level 80.

The good thing about skills is that at a high level you can have both EDD and Tenacity almost maxed:

and of course a small tribute to my lovely mount:

COSMOS Mage Day 15 to Day 19

Hey guys and especially mages! Cosmos Mage is growing strong and here is the development Day 15 to Day 19 and a few words from me to support the pictures.

I was initially going for the legend 40 set but changed my mind and started gathering for the 50 set. this is because I got sufficiently strong to be able to get ~500 to ~1000 honor per Battle Ground so technically I don't need urgently the 40 set. Now I already gathered about 100 crystals for the 50 set so soon I will be getting I think the 50 hat.

In the meantime I also grabbed the arena 45 neck piece just for the time being. It did cost me some insignia but it helped me be stronger for the battle ground fights until I get the 50 item.

For catacombs I actually managed to beat the 90 boss as well as the 95 boss so only the 100 boss remains. He is a lot stronger so I need to wait a little bit before I can bring him down. Still this was an awesome accomplishment to do while having something like 25k BR.

In the Battle Ground, as I mentioned, I am doing alright. You might have seen the BG video I uploaded on LavashGames. If not I put it here below this post for you. Last 2 BGs I made ~900 honor which I think is great given how new Cosmos Mage is, my BR and condition of items. Of course I can't compete with the established monsters, but I do fine.

Here below are the screenshots from COSMOS Mage Day 15 to Day 19 from Wartune Kabam Server 4 Europe. I also highlighted for you as much as I could the main changes from day to day.

The plan still remains to hold the level but it is not easy at all. For example I did a small summoner run and due to the double experience event each summoner fight was giving me 200k experience which I could not avoid as I have to get the loids and legend stones. So I am now Level 53 and have to do my best to not become Level 55, but it is tough, experience just seems to fall down on me :)

When you look at this pictures from Kabam Wartune note that the BR fluctuates depending on the Academy Blessing Wheel that I have for the day. I wrote on each picture what is the Academy buff.

KABAM Day 15 - COSMOS Level 51 - BR 27429

KABAM Day 16 - COSMOS Level 51 - BR 27182

KABAM Day 17 - COSMOS Level 52 - BR 26122

KABAM Day 18 - COSMOS Level 52 - BR 31229

KABAM Day 19 - COSMOS Level 53 - BR 29836

And here is the video from my Battle Ground few days back if you didn't see it:

COSMOS Mage Day 11 to Day 14

Hey guys, I am shocked at how strong and fast I am making progress with this mage. For example I came up to catacombs level 90 with just ~22k BR and a green Pan with lowbie Templars. My guildmates were shocked and so was I - how important it is to make a perfect character finely tuned.

In the Battle Ground today I earned ~600 honor while still wearing blue items and not having neither the arena set nor the PVE set and I was killing level 54s while being 50 myself. This was totally unexpected which is why I did not even plan to record it, but I will start recording my BGs to share with you. Of course I also died a lot, but several times I was on a killing spree.

I have now 1 item from the 40 pve set and 79 crystals (1 short) for another one - not a single crystal dropped from all the campaigns :( and i have switched to and started doing GOD MPD gathering items for 50 set now, so I will not go for full 40 set, especially since I saw that I can be successful in the BG with even blue items that I have.

Here below are the screenshots from COSMOS Mage Day 11 to Day 14 from Wartune Kabam Server 4 Europe.

By the way the plan now is to hold level but since I maxed out talents already for level 50 I automatically became level 51 at the end of day 14.

KABAM Day 11 - COSMOS Level 50 - BR 21479

KABAM Day 12 - COSMOS Level 50 - BR 24561

KABAM Day 13 - COSMOS Level 50 - BR 23940

KABAM Day 14 - COSMOS Level 51 - BR 27254

And if you have not seen the balen spending videos here they are Part 1 and Part 2, each with 30,000 balens making a total of 60,000 balens:

COSMOS made level 50 in 10 days

Hey guys, some of you might know that i started a 2nd account, a male mage, on Kabam. I have been keeping a picture diary of my progress on that character and I am happy and amazed to be able to tell you that I am now level 50 in 10 days! I could rush higher further, but I just wanted to get the sylph at level 50 and now i will slow down significantly in order to get honor and the Lord Divine title.

And here below are the pictures of every day from Day 1 to Day 10.
