New Game Elements in Patch 3.40 Part 4

Hey guys, today they in Patch 3.40 Part 4 in my server and I thought to make this post about all the new things which have popped up in the game. And later, of course, we will follow up with videos and articles about each specific new feature.

Guild Boss / Guild Beast

Guild Boss Drops

  • Golden Holy Water
  • Fang of Fear
  • Crystal Shard

Advanced Guild Skills

These are:
  • 1 more Strength skill (+40 per level)
  • 1 more Defense skill (+40 per level)
  • 1 more Intellect skill (+40 per level)
  • 1 more Endurance skill (+40 per level)
  • Bonus to the experience earned in the Guild Chamber (2% on level 1)
  • Bonus Insignia earnings for Guild Battles (+160 on level 1)
  • Bonus Honor earnings for Guild Battles (+160 on level 1)
  • Bonus to the points earned from Guild Boss (+2% on level 1)

Advanced Guild Shop

In the Advanced Guild Shop there is a new mount: Blazing Lynx

New Astrals: Critical Strike and Summer God

  • Summer God (red): +216 to Critical and Penetration per level; 45,000 astral points if you want to exchange
  • Critical Strike (yellow): +144 to Critical and Penetration per level; 30,000 astral points for exchange

Purgatory Maze

Requires 3 keys to enter (50 balens each). Stay tuned for videos and more posts about this.

Legendary Talents

Knights

  • Laceration: Reduces Death Warrant's Rage consumption by 1 (on level 1). This is actually pretty nice; it helps to spam Death Warrant more.
  • Sword Mastery: Increases Blade Storm's physical damage by 2% (on level 1). Still will be a skill rarely used.
  • Tenacity: Grants Resurrection a 10% chance to purify 1 harmful effect (on level 1). A tiny additional benefit to a useless skill at present. The skill will still be not used.
  • Warlord: Reduces Mars' Will cooldown by 1 second and rage consumption by 1 (on level 1). Nice, but not urgent to have.
  • Reverse Attack: When critically hit, 50% chance to increase attack speed by 55% for 2 turns (on level 1). The best talent from the list - the #1 that must be increased.

Archers

  • Archer's Stance: Increases Blessed Shot's rage returned by 1 (on level 1). A small improvement to a skill I didn't see used much.
  • Swiftness: Reduces Cursed Arrows' CD by 1 second (on level 1). Small improvement, still don't expect a huge change in skill selections due to this.
  • Focused Attack: Increases Annihilating Fury's crit rate by 3% (on level 1). A nice improvement to help get a crit attack after spending all your rage on it, but again, those who don't use this skill will not likely start using it due to this talent.
  • Infiltration: Armor Piercer can cause 22% physical damage to a random additional target. A very nice / interesting power up for the Armor Piercer which is widely used. However, I think this skill is used a lot of the time in solo battles so in those cases there is no additional target to hit.
  • Acute Sting: Increases Soulhunter's Arrow's physical damage by 1% (on level 1). I think this one is the best from the bunch because it is a percentage based benefit.
Mage Skills list and comments - don't have right now. Hopefully Elia will make a post / video about this :)

Mythic Advanced Sylph

Sorry no picture for now as I don't have a gold sylph. You can just check our previous posts on 2nd sylph evolution and our upcoming posts/videos (probably from Elia on this topic). Here are the new mythic advanced sylph skills in the shop, 1000 balens each:

Update: prepared a video also:

Astral Strategies and my First Level 10 Orange Astral in Wartune

Hey guys, I finally achieved my first level 10 Orange astral in Wartune after 2 years of playing :) as 99.9% non-casher (which is why it took so long) + a knight (archer would get it faster).

This madness, requiring over 900,000 astral experience points, costs, roughly counting 450 million gold, but as long as you keep at it adding a little bit every day it adds up finally.

Also to Share Astral Strategies / Tips

Although I'm sure you are happy for me and wish me well :) I am not posting just about my achievement but also want to give some tips / strategy related to it.

This astral which I maxed out (there is no red version for % astrals) is the Determination astral bringing it to a 50% boost in critical damage and this is also what I suggest you to do first before any other astral (assuming that you are "crit build"), because this will directly increase your World Boss income (and, of course, make you perform better in other events / dungeons).

The effect is a lot bigger than increasing crit astral (especially for WB crit is maxed at a lower level, so you can't increase income with that) or attack astral, which does increase your income but not by as much as an additional 5% like Determination.

Never Upgrade to Level 10 These:

On the other side there are astrals which you should be using but should never upgrade to level 10. These are astrals like Regeneration and Deflection. Not only a level 10 is almost meaningless, but you probably don't even want to go higher than level 7 or 8 at most.

This is because the effect of healing or damage of 50,000 is limited to that amount, which, especially for players above 200,000 battle rating is very easy to reach even with the most basic attacks at level 7 (70% of damage). Actually as people are getting stronger and stronger than you will need lower and lower level of these astrals to get the full effect.

Astral Slot Upgrade Tips

When upgrading your astral slots there are 2 things I want to share which are super useful if you don't know them.

1) The upgrade is applied to the specific astral slot and not the astral itself. This means you can move astrals around without a problem and choose which one to apply the upgrade to.

2) Some astrals benefit from this hugely while others' benefit is negligible. For example 1 astral slot upgrade level is already a good improvement for something like Illusion astral, but will only give a few extra, almost meaningless, points to a crit astral. So make sure you put astrals like Illusion, Goddess and Determination on your highest astral slots. Definitely do not waste an upgrade slot on something like Regeneration / Deflection because 70% of damage or 73% of damage is basically the same thing.

Guide to Which Astral to Use

(Posted by Miklós & COSMOS of the DolyGames Team)

This short guide will help you decide which astrals to use.

The abbreviations used:

  • PVP = player vs player: bg, gb, cw, arena etc.
  • PVE = player vs environment: necropolis, sky trial, god's descent etc.

Astrals to use all the time

ATK astrals (most important stat in wartune),
Aegis or Goddess blessing (Aegis on lower levels, Goddess for the future)
Sniper-Determination or Will Destroyer (depending on if you crit build or ewd).

Defense astrals (mdef, pdef): I use these most of the time. In pvp, both astrals are a must. In pve, if you fight versus a very strong opponent (necropolis, sky trial, god's descent), you should be aware if your opponent is matk or patk, and replace the useless defense astral. In some cases, where the opponent has an extreme attack, like in sky trial, you might even choose not to use any.

So how many astro slots this covers?

  • 2 slots for attack astrals
  • 1 slot for Aegis or Goddess
  • 2 slots for crit build or 1 slot for WD
  • 2 slots for defenses
So that's already 6-7 slots covered by the basics.

In the old system we had maximum of 8 astro slots and in the new system we have 10 astro slots, so that leaves you with 3-4 slots left to choose if you have unlocked all the astro slots.

Other Astrals to choose

Enshieldment: a successful block reduces damage by 25%. This astral is great in any pve situation, but less good in pvp since they added penetration. If you are a knight, or just have a high block (7k+) still use it all the time. Otherwise replace it with something more useful in pvp.

Deflection: This astral is less useful on lower level and becomes more and more useful the higher you get. This is because the calculation is a percentage of the damage dealt, so if someone is hitting you with 2000 damage it's not that scary, but if most attacks can generate the capped 50,000 reflection, this becomes rather useful. This astral is often much more a PVP astral than a PVE one, however it can be very useful in PVE damage race situations such as God's Descent, Necropolis and Sky Trail. You don't really need to rush this astral to a level 10 deflection, a level 8 is good enough if your other astrals need work as well.

Guardian Angel: This is a very powerful astral in pvp. Lately everyone is using crit build, so GA decreases damage by a lot. It has only one drawback: your chance to receive crit heal are significantly lowered. Still, it is good to use - what you gain is much more than what you lose. It can bring benefit both in PVP and PVE, but note that monsters crit much less often than players so when doing PVE consider if you can benefit more from other astrals.

Regeneration: Since it's cap has been raised, this is a powerful astral. This astral is less useful on lower level and becomes more and more useful the higher you get. I recommend it in every situation where the battle takes a long time and the survival is important. In fast PVP battles this astral will not have a lot of chances to activate, but in longer PVP battles as some Class War fights might get rather long it might decide win or loss. You don't really need to rush this astral to a level 10 regeneration, a level 8 is good enough if your other astrals need work as well.

Brilliance: All other astrals give a much better bonus when you have a large amount of HP, so I recommend this astral only for World Boss, where it can mean the difference between survival and death. The only other situation is where Battle Rating is important to you in which case you can take this on to boost your BR for prizes or ranking.

Illusion: this astral gives much less bonus what it's description says. Simply completely ignore the 10% number in its description and just accept that it activates rarely. The dodge rate is actually only like 5-6% with max illusion. However, it completely cancels out the enemy attack making it extremely powerful if it is activated and can certainly decide if you lose or win a battle if it activates on a powerful enemy delphic. However, on lower levels I would not recommend anyone to use this since you will not have the gold income to max out this astral making it extremely rare activating. But on higher levels when you do have the power to max out this astral it can be priceless.

COSMOS Astro Example

Remember that the higher the damage numbers the bigger the effect of the percentage astrals.

Achievements from Patch 3.1 Part 1: Astral Master and Advanced Class Opened!

(Posted by Eliatan of the DolyGames Team)

Hey you guys, lots of of new stuff out with the introduction of Patch 3.1! I thought I'd share a bit of how far I've gotten so far, and what's required for the new stuff.

Astral Master

First "Advanced" quest I finished was Astral Master, which requires capturing 5,000 astrals. I had a lot of gold on me so that wasn't a problem, but the clicking was pretty tedious. It's much cheaper to do this by manually clicking rather than using One-click Capture, which only counts the non-white astrals that are captured, not the white ones that are automatically sold.

Astral Master opens one of the new advanced slots. I bought Sacred Pisces for 45,000 Star points, and fed my level 7 PDEF astral into it. Sacred Pisces and its PATK counter part, Sacred Gemini, give both attack and a new stat, Penetration. Penetration is described by the game as "Reduce the target's chance to parry," which I think just means it's a counter to the Block stat.

Advanced Class

Advanced Class opens up an assortment of new features for level 80 players. There are 6 quests you have to complete to unlock it:
  1. Max out your Dragon Soul (Legendary Dragon Soul)
  2. Clear Lych's Lair on Nightmare Mode
  3. Win a Tank Battle
  4. Have 3 (Team) Wins in Battleground
  5. Clear the Dragon King Abyss
  6. Talk to Brad
The only very big pain here was winning the Battlegrounds. Since everyone's trying to complete these quests, you have to put on quite the show to get a win. Find ways to cooperate with your BG team for more success.

Many new options opened up once the Advanced Class quests were done. I'm still exploring some things, but the big ones at first were Advanced Astrals (2nd slot), Advanced Dragon Soul, and Advanced Skills.

For now I'm putting MDEF in for PvE instances, and EGA in for PvP ones.

I started with 12 more skill points and there are more to come!
The other very big thing to become available is Dragon Invasion, but I've just started running it and will get a separate video and blog post for it soon :)

Hope you're all having fun with the new patch. New patches can be frustrating, especially as far as lag goes. I recommend clearing your cache, and then over a couple days it will repopulate and the lag is more manageable after that.

Prepping for May Class Wars!

(Posted by Eliatan)

Class Wars is finally here after a week-long delay! There are a few things I like to think about for each one, which I'll talk about here. Sorry in advance that this is mage-focused, but since it's my main toon class, that's just how it's going to be. Please enlighten me about what archers and knights do to prepare for Class Wars ^^

First thing I'll need to adjust are my resistances. Usually I only protect against dark, light, and electric, but I think against other mages I'm going to forgo light and add in some fire and wind.

Brownie points to whomever can give me a semi-acceptable explanation for why wind elemental stuff is represented by green in this game.
I've opened all five of the battle protection shields available, but for those with fewer, I'd give this some careful thought. A good question to start with is, "What scares me the most?" (My answer is relatively simple -- Annerose :P -- object of all my mage-envy haha)

I also want to adjust my astrals a bit. I'm not a huge fan of the Deflection astral yet, but its PvP prowess has become a bit undeniable. I've considered taking out either Illusion or Block, but I'm leaning toward Illusion.

After, Before, After
Sylph choice is obvious for me, but maybe not as easy for others. For mages I'd probably go with whichever is your highest BR pet that isn't Iris (unless you have an orange Iris ... in that case, take a pic and show me o_o). I've got an archer buddy who's going to try out Pan to counter all the impending Gaias, so keep an open mind.

Here's my Hades, Franziskaner, what a handsome wheat beer. Though once he becomes Aegis I might change the name to Franzia, because she looks like a glass of cheap wine xD

Last, and certainly most mind-boggling to me, are skill and rune choices.

Below is my old standby. However, the new tie-breaker if neither person wins after 2.5 minutes is total damage-dealt, instead of most HP left -- I think it's time to pick something a little more aggressive.

Have used this for months now, but it's a typically conservative mage CW spec.
These are the ones I've been mulling over for awhile now. I'll probably still be deciding seconds before the fighting starts -_-'

It's pretty much impossible to have everything you want in a spec, but at the moment I'm leaning toward giving up Suntoria and using heal/amnesia for runes.

That's all I've got! Good luck everyone! Here's hoping lol ^^

Astro Guide (Constellations)

(Posted by Harsh)

So guys this theory is old enough but not so much old, but still working. It is already posted on kongregate by Knowing eyes , it may be posted on other places but i dont know  I am just elaborating in a much better way. So basically the technique is More Clicks  = Better Astrals. The trick is 90% of hoodoos :D . As Lavash/Cosmos has already posted the drop rates of astrals, it is very rare to get good ones. But the trick i m gonna elaborating will make us get good ones . And It worked for me and some of my guildies (Guild - TRINITY on s447 r2games) . You can ask them if you dont believe . I will get my new player on this server. So this here the trick goes.

So first of all open your astro panel and you will see some constellations .They will glow up and get dimmed.

  • So basically what you have to do is to click the star button after the dimming of the constellation and before the glowing of another one.
  • You will get an astral what ever you do sell or pick it , it doesn't matter but for now if you sell that you will get money and there will be more chances to get more astrals.
  • But you should have 1 astral at a time it is because once you capture an astral the screen gets dimmed and you cannot see.
  • Now if you get activated another star, then follow the same process , click after the dimming and before glowing . Now if you get to another star ( 3rd one), leave it for now lets get back to 1st star(magus) and follow the above process (clicking after dimming and before glowing).
  • Now if you get to 2nd star, its not fully glowed like the leading star ( 3rd one) but it still glow dimmed now get back to 3rd one and make it to 4th star and leave it for now get back to 2nd astral make it to 3rd star then leave this also and get back to 1st star make it to 2nd star and see you will have star activated in series like 2nd star>3rd star>4th Star and then make 4th to 5th , 3rd to 4th , 2nd to 3rd and 1st to 2nd.
  • Now you have all the star activated and now follow the trick(dimming and glowing) and click 5th star you will get red or yellow ( i m sure becaue 80% of people get it) and follow the same steps and repeat it again and make star activated like a staircase.

Note: You must be patient and have a lot of money (1000k gold for at least 3 or 4  yellow or red [for me] ).

Status Cosmos Knight Level 80 Mage Level 58

Hey guys, here is a status report post on both my characters - Knight Level 80 and Mage Level 58 and, as always, my comments and tips and advice.

So first, I didn't post this yet, but here is my long awaited level up congrats screenshot when I became level 80 I think on the 25th of January:

So after that for about 1 month and right up to the February Class Wars I was finishing up collecting and enchanting my 70 set and I wanted to wait for that before posting the status because it looks awesome - I hide clothing now all the time, so here is my new look and my stats (200% Academy).

You will notice I focused a lot on MDEF to get that up as much as possible since Apollo, Gaia, Iris all do magic damage. I still have the rings as level 60, but for me those are really last priority - a few thousand health is nothing compared to the huge attacks I am receiving. The battle rating is beautifully just above 110k.

Next up the stats on my mage - you will notice that I am going for a full 50 legend set, again rings as last priority; then the 30 day medallion to conserve insignia as much as possible, although now that i got my equipment into legend i might start buying the more expensive ones. Also you notice a strong focus on MATK so I can earn more from the World Boss and kill opponents in Battlegrounds faster. Sockets are not fully done yet, I don't want to spend balens on the rods, so I am getting them slowly over time for free, got maybe 70% of what i need already.

Next, the pictures of my inventory, since people enjoy looking at the stuff that I have (or other people have) hehehe - let me know in the comments what is your biggest surprise or what you think is the coolest item(s) i have :)

and the bags of my mage as well where you will notice that anything to do with experience is stored in the guild vault because i am trying not to gain experience to hold level as much as possible:

Next up are the Astrals for both characters. Here you notice that i have gone to critical build on both characters partly cause its awesome and partly cause its a lot of fun to see the big damage numbers. On the Knight you see that last astral is really a wild card, I had illusion level 8, now i fed that to Guardian Angel which is giving me -40% critical received chance, which is also helpful in dungeons to get less crit hits from bosses. On the Mage you will notice I am absolutely unlucky and didn't get any nice astrals (got Blessed Health yellow 3 times - ridiculous) but I am trying to do the best with what I got raising Willpower to level 5 next.

...and lastly the sylphs that I have.

For my Knight I am really hesitating between Iris and Gaia. As I don't put money on my Knight I think for any free player / non-casher type of a player only 1 strong sylph is realistic to have. My Iris is 3 star blue already much closer to purple and also the benefits of Iris include the fact that in PvP she can pretty much 1 shot kill all the troops if they are alive (especially a good thing when thinking of the coming new stronger troops) and she is a fantastic friend to have when going to dungeons with your friends. While Gaia on the other hand is just super at one target killing. She is just somewhat risky in PvP that if you didn't manage to kill off the troops fast, which I think will happen more and more with the upcoming new troops then you will have a major problem of taking the risk with your delphic and hoping it will hit the player.

For my Mage life is easier, I used to have a blue Pan which was great as well and switched to Amazon when that came out as it is the best choice a mage can make since it's attack is PATK it munches through other mages like butter.
